PROGRAM SENTUHAN KASIH

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Excellence in career and the materialistic world is often the dream and concern of all
children. However, in the pursuit of student excellence, we often forget that the basic
aspects of reading and writing skills are not given attention by either educators or
parents. Thus, there is a slight flaw in the success of every program centered on
students, teachers, and parents. The raises number of students is due to the effects
of Covid-19 and interruption of teaching and learning. Therefore, this "Sentuhan
Kasih" program is planned and implemented to help students who still do not master
reading and writing skills and to cover content standards and learning standards This
is required in all 3 languages (Tamil, English, and Bahasa Malaysia`).

2.0 RATIONAL

This program is conducted to help improve student achievement in reading and

writing skills. In addition, this program can give maximum focus to weak students
because it is conducted in small groups.

3.0 AIM

The purpose of this program is to help students master skills in reading and writing
and can improve excellence in education. This program is also expected to reduce
the number of remedial students. It also aims to foster self-confidence in each
student and increase their potential in mainstream learning.

4.0 OBJECTIVE
• Help students master skills in literacy.
• Zeroing students who have not mastered Konstruk 1 & Konstruk 2 for Literacy and
• Build students' self-confidence.
• Identifying the student’s areas of weakness in Literacy
• Creating cooperation between teachers and teachers as well as teachers and
parents.
• Create fun and structured learning environment
5.0 TARGET GROUP
• Students from Years 1 to 6 who have not mastered the basic skills of reading and
writing which selected through ‘Ujian Saringan Linus Bahasa Malaysia and
Mathematics. (The list of students' names is as in attachment 1).

6.0 PLACE AND TIME

Place : SJK(T) Thamboosamy Pillai

Time : 9.00 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Date : September 2022 to June 2023

7.0 PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION

This ‘Sentuhan Kasih’ program will be implemented from September 2022 to June
2023. It will be held with the full assistance of educated parents for students who are
weak in reading skills in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Tamil. Teaching hours and
core facilitation will be used for this program. Pupils will be divided into small groups
according to their areas of weakness. This program will be held for 2 hours every
day.

9.0 CLOSURE

This program is expected to help students master 3M skills and parents can take a
role in helping their children in 3M skills and PASS the main subject and not put all
the responsibilities of educating among teachers alone. It is hoped that this program
can be implemented successfully.
