1 Look at the pictures and make negative sentences in the past simple using the prompts in brackets.

He didn’t hear the alarm.

4 (watch/the match)  5 (rain)  6 (be/angry) 

7 (tidy up)  8 (close/the gate)  9 (miss/the bus) 

2 Write two more negative sentences for each picture.

3 Work in pairs and compare your sentences.
