SAD - SAD

During the 3rd week of January, the Municipality of


Calinog celebrates the Torch Parade(Opening Salvo). It is
the most exciting event during January because you can
see the people are very happy. It includes also the
parades of Lighted Sto. Nino during the opening salvo you
can see the different beautiful decorations of Sto. Nino.
Each school is needed to have their lighted Sto. Nino to
present during the Torch Parade and it is also with dances
that prepared by the different school that are contestant
during this competition.

HIRINUGYAW SUGUIDANONAY
The most exciting part is during the Hirinugyaw
Suguidanonay Festival, the highlight each tribe is present
their school then you will witness the talented
Calinognons. They show their devotion to Sr. Sto Nino
through dancing and also performing the Epic that has
been told on balay tulun an.

BALAY TULUN-AN
It is located at Baranggay Datagan, Calinog Iloilo
where there are Indigenous people who are responsible
for teaching cultures and their traditions, like the dances
and the embroidery or panubok. Their designs are
indigenous people and animals in their locality.

IMACULADA CONCEPTION
The people in Calinog were very devotional because
more people go to church and pray. Also thanking
Almighty God for all the blessings they received and this
symbolizes that Calinognons are very faithful and good.
