Advanced Minimally Invasive

Hemodynamic Monitoring
FloTrac Sensor

FloTrac sensor is a less-invasive hemodynamic monitoring device that provides key flow parameters
(CO, SV, SVV, SVR) from an existing arterial catheter using continuous automatic tone adjustments.
The complete system includes the Vigileo monitor that calculates and displays the key flow parameters.

The FloTrac sensor is accurate, easy to use and less invasive:

• Connects to existing arterial catheter.

• Requires no additional catheters, boluses or chemical indicators enabling rapid set up.

• Continuously monitors changes in the patient’s vascular tone (compliance and resistance).

• Validated against the clinical gold standard Swan-Ganz pulmonary artery catheter1.

• Compatible with Vigileo monitor.

PreSep Oximetry Catheters

PreSep oximetry catheters are triple lumen central venous catheters with the added capability for continuously
monitoring central venous oxygen saturation (ScvO2). It is integral to Early Goal-Directed Therapy (EGDT)
for the management of sepsis. EGDT when used with the PreSep catheter yields significant reductions in
sepsis-related mortality1.

• Continuous ScvO2 monitoring to assess the balance of oxygen delivery and consumption.

• Available with antimicrobial protection using Oligon material.*

• Easy to insert using same insertion technique as that of central lines.

• Pressure monitoring and high flow rates.

• Compatible with Edwards oximetry monitors and optical module.

* PreSep Oligon oximetry catheters contain an integrated Oligon antimicrobial material. The activity of the antimicrobial material is localized at the catheter
surfaces and is not intended for treatment of systemic infections. In vitro testing demonstrated that the Oligon material provided broad-spectrum effectiveness
(≥ 3 log reduction from initial concentration within 48 hours) against the organisms tested: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Klebsiella
pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae,
Enterobacter aerogenes, GMRSa, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida glabrata and VRE (Enterococcus faecium).
** All model numbers with an “H” contain AMC THROMBOSHIELD coating (an antimicrobial† heparin coating). Antimicrobial activity associated with
AMC THROMBOSHIELD coating has been demonstrated using in vitro diffusion agar assays against the following organisms: Staphylococcus epidermidis,
Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus.

Vantex Central Venous Catheters

Vantex catheters with Oligon** material, are the first central venous catheters made of a biocompatible
and antimicrobial** material.

• The Vantex central venous catheters are the only central venous catheters extruded from
polyurethane, combined with the natural elements of silver, carbon and platinum.

• The Oligon material releases silver ions from the device surfaces, which kills colonizing bacteria.

Notes
A heritage of developing leading solutions
that advance the care and treatment of the critically ill

Since the introduction of the Swan-Ganz catheter in the early 1970s,

Edwards Lifesciences has partnered with clinicians to develop products and
systems that advance the care and treatment of the critically ill. What has
resulted is an extensive line of hemodynamic monitoring tools including catheters,
sensors and bedside patient monitors that continue to build on this
gold standard in critical care medicine.

Critical care clinicians around the world have used Edwards products to clinically
manage more than 30 million patients. Hemodynamic monitoring products such
as Swan-Ganz catheters, the FloTrac system and PreSep and PediaSat oximetry
catheters enable clinicians to make more informed and rapid decisions when
treating patients in surgical and critical care settings.
