EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
I started internship at Suman Roofings for my Student Internship
Program (SIP) on 1st June,2022. This is an eight week internship from
8th June,2022 to 3rd August,2022. However, I wanted to work for
more days at the firm and hence started my a week early. Suman
Roofings is located in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad. The title of my report is
Financial Strategies of a Firm . The primary objective of my report is
to get hands on experience of finance in a business that has huge
growth potential.

During the period of my internship, I worked on cost-benefit analysis,

Bills receivable management, Financial planning, Day-to-day
accounting and book keeping process.

Having to get a opportunity in working in such a firm, I need to

understand the general roles and responsibilities of a finance
executive. Further, I need to relate that knowledge to my workplace
and implement them to achieve the organizational and personal
goals.

The position being Finance Intern, I have worked on few critical

aspects of the business but due to sensitivity of information, it is not
possible to disclose the output of my work.

The methodology involves understanding and learning Financials. To

Conclude, Suman Roofings is striving hard for revenue and has a
good friendly work culture to work in.

INTRODUCTION
Financial Planning is the task of determining how a business will afford to achieve its
strategic goals and objectives. Usually, A company creates its financial plan immediately
after the vision and objective have been set.
Financial Planning primarily focuses on:
Determining Capital Requirement
Determining Capital Structure
Framing Financial Policies
Ensure the scarce financial resources are maximally utilised.
However, Financial Planning is tied into various department and functions:
1. Accounting Department :It primarily focuses on day to day financial activities that is
inflow and out flow of money in the firm. It also deals with the processing of all
accounting information. It records accounts payable and receivable,Fixed assets,
payroll , inventory and other accounting elements.
2. Cost Account Department : It primarily focuses on cutting down the costs and
improving efficiency which may benefit the company or the firm. This leads to the
benefit of customers with the products and the services.
3. Audit Department : It primarily focuses on to provide oversight of the financial
reporting process, The Audit process, The company's system of internal controls and
compliance with Laws and regulations.
4. Financial Planning and Budgeting Department :The overall purpose budgeting is to plan
different phases of business operations, coordinate activities of different
departments of the firm and to ensure the effective control over it.
5. Cash Department : The primary focus is to forecast future cash balances in order to
identify potential deficits and surpluses.
6. Credit Department :The overall purpose is to know the trade payables of the firm to
plan cash accordingly.
In most of the companies/firms there is a separate department to manage the finances of
the company/firm.

ORIGIN OF THE REPORT

This Student internship Program (SIP) of ICFAI Business School is a graduation requirement
for the BBA students.This Report is compilation of my work and study at Suman Roofings
and his requirement for the completion of my SIP-1. The key purpose of this internship is to
get exposure and hands on experience over the real world organisational practices. As an
Intern, the most challenging part was to understand the dynamics of a firm without any
much information of the "Firm's Accounting"
Drives of the SIP-1 are as follows :
➢ Provide General Accounting support
➢ Keep a close track with all the receipts or invoice that has been passed
➢ Help with account receivable management
➢ Provide support for annual budgeting process

This Report is the result of a four week internship at Suman roofings from 1st June,2022
to 08 July,2022 and needs to be submitted to the ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad for the
Accomplishing the academic requirement for my BBA Program
