H PROBLEM AND OBJECTIVE Group 1A Research Question 1: Is there a difference in the prevalence of common colds and influenza in Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in air-conditioned class rooms and those without an airconditioning system? y General Objective: To determine if there is a difference between the prevalence of common colds and influenza in Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in airconditioned class rooms and those without an air-conditioning system. Specific Objectives: o To identify the prevalence of common colds and influenza among Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in air conditioned class rooms. o To identify the prevalence of common colds and influenza among students Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in non-air conditioned class rooms. o To determine the different pathogens that can thrive under the two different class room conditions. o To determine which studying environment is more suitable in the prevention of respiratory diseases.

Research Question 2: Is there a difference in the prevalence of tuberculosis and pneumonia in Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in air-conditioned class rooms and those without an air-conditioning system? y General Objective: To determine the relationship between the prevalence of tuberculosis and pneumonia in Grade 6 students Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in air-conditioned class rooms and those without an air-conditioning system. Specific Objectives: o To identify the prevalence of tuberculosis and pneumonia in Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in air conditioned class rooms. o To identify the prevalence of tuberculosis and pneumonia in Grade 6 students of Dasmarinas, Cavite who have classes in non-air conditioned class rooms. o To determine the different pathogens that can thrive under the two different class room conditions. o To determine which studying environment is more suitable in the prevention of respiratory diseases.

Research Question 3: Among the students of DLS-HSI, what is the effect of their parents smoking habits to their tendency to smoke? y y General objective: To determine the effect of parents smoking habits to their children, who attend DLS-HSI, and their tendency to smoke. Specific Objectives: o To determine the influences of a DLS-HSI student to smoke. o To determine if their parents have an influential role in smoking o To determine if their parents are the cause of their smoking

Research Question 4: Is there a relationship between the BMI of Grade 1 students of private and public schools of Dasmarinas, Cavite and their socio-economic status? y y General Objective: To determine the relationship between the BMI of Grade 6 students of private and public schools of Dasmarinas, Cavite and their socio-economic status? Specific Objectives: o To determine the percentage of Grade 1 students that have a body mass index (BMI) that is below normal limits. o To determine the percentage of Grade 1 students that have a body mass index (BMI) that is within normal limits. o To determine the percentage of Grade 1 students that have a body mass index (BMI) that is above normal limits. o To determine if the socio-economic status of the family of the student affects his/her BMI.
