TOPIC: WRITE AN ESSAY ABOUT WHETHER INVENTING A NEW INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE IS A GOOD

OR BAD.

Up to now, international communication is a means of connecting people in this linguistically divided

world. Some people hold the notion that inventing a new international language is a mind-blowing
initiative meanwhile English has been chosen before. From my perspective, I totally disagree with that
statement for a variety of reasons.

First and foremost, the majority of people may not come to terms with a new language because it would
be artificial and not based on any culture. There will be various demonstrations or enduring conflicts
about this invention. Moreover, people are getting used to a language which was founded for such a
long time, hence, learning another language cannot be conveyed to their minds. They have to learn a
new system of pronunciation, grammar and so on, what is more, it would become worse if any
oversights are noticed in the invention of a new language.

In addition, promoting a new language will take extended time and require financial support. People are
incapable of acquiring novelty at once, let alone a new language, they have to study from the root to the
advanced knowledge of this gratis language. For instance, in some countries such as China and India
there are many languages because it is financially unrealistic to teach everyone in poor areas one
language. Although this might be achieved finally, it will take as long as a hundred years or even more.

Finally, the availability of many popular languages does not necessitate a new lingua franca. To
illustrate, English is more popular and widely accepted all over the world. Therefore, encouraging the
use of such popular languages is beneficial to tackle the difficulties in the creation and distribution of a
new language.

To sum up, it is unquestionable that the idea of a new language is less effective for the world due to
above mentioned reasons. After analyzing the subject, it is clear that instead of creating a new language,
nations should promote a popular language for international communication.
