CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTION

5.1 Conclusions

5.1.1 Student who speak mongondow as their mother tongue find it difficult to
pronounce the sounds [f] and [v] in initial, medial and final
positions.

5.1.2 Most of the students of SPG Negeri kotamobagu have difficulties in pronouncing
English segmental phonems especially the sounds [f] and [v]

5.1.3 Difficulties met in teaching English prononciation are caused by interference of


the moth er tongue.

5.1.4 Drill are intended to make students acquire the pronunciation habits of foreign
sounds.

5.1.5 To overcome the mis-pronunciation the teacher give the students a loot of drills

5.1.6 The eclected method is appropriate to be applied in theaching pronunciation.

5.2 Suggestions

5.2.1 It is suggested that the English teachers are well prepare before giving lesson.

5.2.2 In teaching pronounctioton, the teachers should regularly give a lot of drills.

5.2.3 Englist pronounciation is necesasarily given at the beginning of the course in

English especially in the first years.

5.2.4 Since language is primerlly speech, a foreign language teacher should givr the
students to speak correctly

5.2.5 As students are going to be teachers, it is mecessary to have special period for
teaching English pronounciation in the curriculum.

5.2.6 Beginning of learning, the teachers should paydue attention to the difference
between the mother tongue and the language he is teaching in all aspecth
especially the difference for the students master.
