With J, we, ‘you, and they, the simple present form is the same asthe base form of the verb. With he, she, and it, add -s, but note these exceptions: * verbs ending in -ch, -s,-sh, -x, and -o, add -es watch > watches, go > goes © verbs ending in -y, change -y to sjand add-es carry > carries haves irregular have > has Wh- questions '* Wh- word + do + /we/you/they + verb (base form) When do you finish work? © Wh- word + does + he/she/it +verb Where does he eat lunch? * In questions, don't add -s to the verb. Yes/no questions * Do+\/we/you/they + verb Do you eat with clients? * Does + he/she/it + verb Does he finish at five o'clock? * Note the short answers: Yes, //we/you/they do. hhe/she/it does.
