1. How does the quantity and quality of education affect the economic growth of the
country? Kindly cite a specific example for each of the two issues.

A country grows because of its people, it depends in the how and what these people are
because they are the one who will run the country, their employment will help the
economy grow.

The quantity and quality of education affect the economic growth of the country in a way
that the people are the manager of the country, they are the one who works. They are
the one involves in running the country. They pay taxes wherein it is used in developing
the country. If schools offer quality education, they can handle the situation effectively
because people/ employee are ready in the real world scenario. They are capable in
handling situations, especially in today that the world is experiencing crisis, they can
handle and plan on how to solve problem and put back to track the economy of a
country.

Another example that quality of education is needed when building a building, the set of
engineers and architecture should know how to make this building strong even if heavy
earthquakes occur it is because if quality of education is not present, then building are
easily devaststed and building building are part of the economy. Investors won’t invest in
a country if it will happen and it has a domino effect to the economic growth.

On other hand, the quantity of education affects education the economic growth in a way
that if professionals are insufficient in a country who will be the one to the task wherein it
needs expertise. Example of this is agiruclotirst, if these professionals went abroad or if
these are not chosen to be enrolled, then it would greatly affect the agriculture
department of the country. They can help in solving the problems in the agricultural
sector and if these sector is growing, then economy is also growing.

2. Explain this statement: Economics, politics, and society shape the returns to education.
Education systems do not function in a vacuum; they are part of broader economic,
political, and social institutions.

3. What are the three dimensions of the learning crisis that is common among different
countries? Explain why it is considered a learning crisis?

The dimensions of the learning crisis that is common among the different countries are poor
learning outcomes, poor learning environment and poor educational system. These three are
considered crises because it affect the quality of education. These three are interneconnected,
from the system to the learning outcome of the students
Poor system is considered a learning crisis because it is the foundation education. The
implementation and guidelines on how to offer quality education is in here. Aside from the
curriculum aspect, infrastructure and materials that the teacher are coming from the top. The
system are the one who provide classrooms, books and many more to field in delivering the
instruction. If they provided mediocore, then educational process will be disrupted.

On the side, the poor learning envrimoent comes a poor educational system. It is considered a
crisis because as the theories of learning that students need a conducive classroom for student
to learn more. Students can think ideas because cannot feel and disturb by the warm air or the
hot temperature. And if these happen learning outcomes will be in successful rate. On factors
that can affect the performance of the students including the teacher.

Problems regarding poor learning outcomes are not new. It is considered crisis because it will
affect the students performance and as well as it can affect the economic growth of a country.
Poor learning outcomes can be dangerous in establishing a community. Sooner or later
students with poor learning outcomes will be part of the economic and if this will increase in
numbers, how they can increase the development of a country.

4. There are 17 UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) to transform our world namely:
GOAL 1: No Poverty, GOAL 2: Zero Hunger, GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being,
GOAL 4: Quality Education, GOAL 5: Gender Equality, GOAL 6: Clean Water and
Sanitation, GOAL 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, GOAL 8: Decent Work and Economic
Growth, GOAL 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality,
GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, GOAL 12: Responsible Consumption
and Production, GOAL 13: Climate Action, GOAL 14: Life Below Water, GOAL 15: Life
on Land, GOAL 16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions and GOAL 17: Partnerships to
achieve the Goal.

Choose 1 of these 17 goals and discuss how your school takes part in achieving these
goals. You can identify 1 activity implemented in your school and discuss how it helps in
achieving one of the UN SDG.

In our school we implemented the department order of the deped which is the
implementation of the school based feeding program. Schools were given budget or will
ways to fun this feeding program. This is hitting two birds in one stone goals of the UN ;
Goal 2 : Zero Hunger as children will be given racion everyday to fught the problem of
hunger as what we know that brains works best when we have something in our
stomach. At the time it achieve Goal 3: Good Health and well being because the studens
who are part of the School – based Feeding Program (SBFP) are malnourished
students. They serve nutrios food to those students and even last year this still present
by giving food to students who are malnourished food with milk such as fresh milk, milky
bun, nutribun, nd nutritios food like fruits, vegetables, rootcrops and eggs.
This School – based feeding program of helps in achieving the goal 2 as it will help
students got food for their stomac and goal 3 as it helps in decreasing the number of
malnurshihd and undernurish in the Philippines.

5. According to the World Bank Labour Force Survey 2015, there is a high dropout rate for
male students in the secondary schools, specifically, those coming from the poor
households. Further, it said that dropouts might be related to perceived lack of learning
in school and financial constraints or opportunity costs of staying in school. What
learning approaches (5 approaches) can you suggest to counter the issue?

This issue very rampant in the public schools, reasons in dropouts are evident. These are the
approaches that I can suggest to count the issue:

Alternative Learning System – this will help them in continuing education as it is a community
based education wherein mobile teachers are dopolyed to teach students.
The use of para – teachers is also applicable speacially those whore in the far flung area.

Remedial instruction is given the students who

Modular - this very helpful because they can go to school one a week to get the modules

6. Based on the study of all ASEAN+6 countries, TVET is considered important, however,
TVET continues to be unpopular in these countries. As an education manager make an

In this format, identity 3 objectives, each of which has its strategies, responsible persons
and measurement and sources of data. Put in mind, that the objectives and strategies
should address the issue of the unpopularity of TVET. The responsible person refers to the
people who are tasked to do the strategies. And the measurement and sources of data,
refers to the basis why such strategies are considered successful.
