COVID-19 has impacted higher education more than any other event in modern history,

putting the future of many institutions in doubt. Almost overnight, the institution as a
whole was forced to restructure. This covid19 pandemic has significantly changed the
world. From our basic routinary way of living to celebration of big events has suddenly
shift to “new normal”.

The senior high school department lost out on celebrating and enjoying "Senior High
Day" for two years. This year marks the SHS department's first face-to-face event since
the outbreak of the epidemic. On May 26, 2022, "Senior High Day" occurred with the
theme “Panagtambayayongay_______________”.

No one can ignore the joy on the students' faces as they adorn the hallway in
preparation for the campus parade that is about to begin on that day. Students wearing
purple shirts are from the G-12 Humility class, those wearing yellow shirts are from the
G-12 Integrity class. G-12 Fidelity students are wearing red shirts. G-11 students are
sporting their orange, green, and pink clad.

The colorful crowd is now blending in on campus. Joyful roars, laughter, and screams
are there and participating in the fun.

Senior high Day is the period when students get to know others better and make new
friends in their strands and from other tracks as well, because earlier in the semester,
due to the virtual nature of the course, they do not have the opportunity to do so. Also,
during the events, one can see the inner determination of the students is being brought
out, as well as teamwork and cooperation. Clearly, there were some controversies, and
the competition was extremely heated. This is unavoidable in any competition. It merely
demonstrates their school spirit and how determined each class is to win. It also
demonstrates that if a team is still standing strong amid controversies, it has genuinely
captured the concept of oneness.

SHS day was definitely a fun day for the students. It was refreshing to take a break from
studies and tests. It also provided them with the opportunity to have fun with their
classmates.
Overall, So many lessons and values can be learned from SH day. I am glad that most,
if not all schools practice this event annually. It not only promotes health and fitness but
values as well. We learn values such as: teamwork, unity, loyalty, cooperation, school
spirit, humility, determination and many more. Everyone look forward for next year's SH
day, and all are excited with what it has in store for us.
