Adjudicator Contract For

Celebration of Excellence Choir Festival


April 17, 2023, Houston, TX

American Classic Tours & Music Festivals, LLC (“American Classic”) is pleased to invite you
to serve as an adjudicator for the 2023 American Classic Celebration of Excellence Choir
Festival.

Site: South Main Baptist Church

Adjudicators’ duties include listening to and comparing all participating choirs to obtain a
ranking from highest to lowest score. A raw to rank scoring system is utilized which results
in a ranked list of first place and first, second and third runners up plus a group of
Performances of Distinction. Choirs in each category (Mixed, Tenor Bass, Treble) are
ranked separately. In addition to ranking the groups, adjudicators are asked to share
informative, constructive comments with the directors and their students. No ratings are
given for this event.

Please complete and sign this contract no later than August 1, 2022. If your signed contract
is not received by the deadline date, it will be considered null and void. If extenuating
circumstances cause you to miss the deadline, please contact Sally Schott as soon as
possible to rectify the matter.

Honorarium Scale

Adjudicators for the Celebration of Excellence Choir Festival will be compensated at a rate
of $500.

This contract is based on anticipated registrations. If registrations are insufficient to produce
a viable festival event, American Classic will notify you of such no less than 30 days prior to
the festival date. Festival cancellations made 30 days prior to the festival will provide no
contract remuneration.

Lodging

Lodging will be provided for the nights of the first and second days of the festival. Special
travel needs will be handled on an individual basis.

Contracted employees are responsible for all incidental hotel charges above American
Classic’s pre-paid room/tax cost.

Travel

All contracted staff will be expected to report to the festival site at a designated time prior to
the start of the event for orientation and instructions. Reporting times will be communicated
in a timely manner prior to the event.

Air travel: Contracted staff will be responsible for making flight arrangements five weeks
prior to the event (before March 13, 2023), and will be reimbursed for air travel at the
airline's "economy class" ticket classification. Once booked, please provide American
Classic with your ticket receipt for inclusion on your reimbursement request. Once air travel
is booked, additional charges for airline ticket changes, non-refundable deposits and/or
special requests beyond the lowest available airfare from your preferred airport will be your
responsibility. Airport parking will be reimbursed at the daily rate for self-parking.

For Texas staff, in some cases air travel will not be involved.

If you are not driving your personal vehicle, transportation will be provided by an American
Classic representative, a fellow adjudicator/clinician, a hotel shuttle, or other means of
public transportation.

Per Diem

Adjudicators will be compensated up to $40.00 per day for meals when breakfast and/or
lunch are not provided. When it is necessary to travel the day preceding or following the
event, a $30 per diem will be provided. Standard per diem is $10 for breakfast, $10 for
lunch, $20 for dinner.

Taxpayer Identification Number/Payroll Taxes

The Internal Revenue Service requires businesses to obtain a social security number,
name, and address. Please complete and return the attached Form W-9 “Request for
Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification.”

All State and Federal payroll taxes for payments received from American Classic will be
your sole responsibility. These payroll taxes include but are not limited to federal income tax,
social security, and Medicare taxes.

American Classic appreciates you lending your expertise and looks forward to your
