INTRODUCTION
Technical Services is pleased to announce the launch of the ECOSYS M3145idn/M3645idn HyPAS Capable A4 B&W
MFP’s. These new models utilize a 7.0 inch tilt Color LED Touch Panel that provides low energy consumption with a
high end User Friendly Interface, supports the IB-51 Wireless Network Card and IB-36 WiFi Direct Interface and comes
standard with 1 GB of Memory. The Document Processor is standard.

DEALER LIMITED WARRANTIES FOR ECOSYS SERIES PRINTERS & MFP’S

KYOCERA Document Solutions America, Inc. (“KYOCERA”) warrants its new ECOSYS Series Printers/Multifunctional
Products (referred to herein as “Printers/MFPs), to Authorized Dealers as follows:

Mainframes and Accessories. The Printers/MFPs’ mainframe and accessories are warranted against defects in
workmanship and material under normal use and service for a period of 36 months from installation with first end-user,
or 39 months from KYOCERA’s invoice date to Dealer, or the specified number of copies/prints listed below, whichever
occurs first (referred to herein as “Printers/MFPs” Warranty Period”). KYOCERA’s obligation hereunder is expressly
limited to providing Dealer with the parts required to repair the Printers/MFPs or crediting Dealer's account for the cost
of said parts, at KYOCERA's election.

Maintenance Kits. Maintenance Kits generally consist of the developing unit, the drum unit, and the fixing unit.
Components of Maintenance Kits included with the original Printers/MFPs are warranted against defects in material and
workmanship for a period of 36 months from date of installation with first end-user, or 39 months from KYOCERA’s
invoice date to Dealer (referred to herein as Original Maintenance Kit Warranty Period), or the specified number of
copies/prints listed below (referred to herein as Original Maintenance Kit Copy Allowance), whichever occurs first.
Replacement Maintenance Kits purchased and installed after the Original Maintenance Kit Copy Allowance has expired,
shall have a limited warranty for the specified number of copies/prints, or until the Original Maintenance Kit Warranty
Period expires, whichever occurs first. Replacement Maintenance Kits purchased and installed after the Original
Maintenance Kit Warranty Period has expired shall have a limited warranty of 90 days. To be covered by this 90 day
warranty, the Replacement Kit must be installed and registered prior to the Printer/MFP exceeding 10% of the Original
Maintenance Kit Copy Allowance.

These warranties do not cover Printers/MFPs or components of Maintenance Kits which: (a) have become damaged
due to operator negligence, misuse, accidents, improper storage or unusual physical or electrical stress, (b) have used
parts or supplies which are not genuine KYOCERA brand parts or supplies, (c) have been installed or serviced by a
technician not employed by KYOCERA or an Authorized KYOCERA Dealer, (d) have had the serial number modified,
altered, or removed, or (e) Dealer fails to register the installation information for the Printer/MFP with KYOCERA
utilizing KDACentral.

THESE WARRANTIES SHALL BE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. KYOCERA SHALL NOT BE
LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHICH MAY ARISE OUT OF THE USE OF, OR
INABILITY TO USE, THE PRINTER/MFP.

WARRANTY RETURNS

To submit any Parts RETURN, simply log-on to our Order and Tracking System, go to Returns and request a
Return Authorization. Select the appropriate Return Type.

To Process your Warranty Claim and verify other key information, the Maintenance Pages, Status
Page, Service Status Page, Event Log & Image Quality Samples must be included if the item is to be
returned to the National Return Center or Uploaded, if prompted to do so. If all of these are not
Included or Uploaded with the Warranty Claim, your request may be delayed or denied.

To ensure quality, especially of new products, we will have parts returned on new product introductions for a
period of approximately six months.

Technical Training Course, are automatically certified on the new M3145idn/M3645idn.

Technician’s who do not meet the Training Prerequisite must complete the ECOSYS
M3040idn/M3540idn/M3550idn/M3560idn full Online Technical Training Course.

Before a Technician can take the ECOSYS M3040idn/M3540idn/M3550idn/M3560idn Online Technical

Training Course, the following Online Technical Training Courses must be completed first.

Defective PCB’s being returned within the 3-Year warranty period must be returned to the National Return Center
utilizing the Parts Warranty Registration & Return System on KDACentral. Print out the Return Authorization form
obtained through the system and return it with the Circuit Board for Credit. Any associated mounting brackets,
hardware, system software and original packaging must be included with the claim. Credit will then be issued to your
account.

For defective PCB’s out of warranty, a Repair PCB must be ordered from the Parts Distribution Center. The dealer will
be charged 100% of the New PCB price. The defective PCB can be returned using the Online Repair Board Core
Form within 30 days of the Repair PCB invoice date. Upon receipt of the defective PCB at the National Return Center,
the dealer will be credited 55% of the New PCB price. If a New PCB is ordered instead of a Repair PCB, credit will not
be issued for the returned defective PCB.

OCR DICTIONARY SOFTWARE FOR SCAN EXTENTION KIT

IMPORTANT:
OCR dictionary software for the these models is not preloaded on the mainframe. An Optional SD
Card or Optional Hard Drive must be installed.

When you install Scan Extension Kit (A):

1. Insert or Install a Optional SSD or SD card and format it through the System Menu.

[System Menu/Counter] key → [Adjustment/Maintenance] → [Service settings] → [Format SD

card] or [Format SSD]

The Firmware Pack contains the OCR Dictionary Software Data file. It can be loaded
Normally via (USB), (KNV Ver 5.7.1426.1 or above) or (KFS).

• If a Hard Drive or SD Card is not installed on the Device and the Firmware Pack is loaded
USB or KFS, the OCR Dictionary Software Data file will BE IGNORED AND NOT
LOADED.

• If a Hard Drive or SD Card is not installed on the Device and the Firmware Pack is loaded
by KNV Ver 5.7.1426.1 or above, the OCR Dictionary Software Data file will NOT BE
INSTALLED AND AN OCR FAILURE WILL DISPLAY.
