a) Enumerate different types of jaw suspension in vertebrates with proper 5
examples.
b) Briefly describe the roles of bacteria in rumination. Comment on carnassial 3+2
teeth.
c) Compare the heart of reptiles and birds with diagram. 5
d) Briefly describe the pronephric kidney with diagram. 5

a) Mention the aortic arches present in embryonic condition of vertebrates. Give 2+8
a comparative account of aortic arches in reptiles and amphibians.

c) “Avian lung deviates from mammalian lung”– state characters to abet this 2+3+5
statement. Illustrate the structural organization of avian lung. Explain with
proper sketches how a single bolus of air fulfills its passage through the lung
of a bird.
