manner.

Situation I. A simply supported beam loaded as shown in the figure below. Determine the
following:
1. Reaction at supports.
2. Shear and moment equations within segment BC, 4 𝑚 < 𝑥 < 6 𝑚.
3. Shear and moment equations within segment CD, 6 𝑚 < 𝑥 < 8 𝑚.
4. Maximum moment in the beam.

Situation II. An over-hang simply supported beam loaded with concentrated loads at the
specific points and a trapezoidal load increasing from left to right. Determine the following:
1. Shear and moment equations at segment BC, 0 < 𝑥 < 6 𝑚.
2. Shear and moment equations at segment CD, 6 𝑚 < 𝑥 < 10 𝑚.
3. Location of the maximum moment from point B.
4. Maximum moment in the beam.

Situation III. A statically determinate beam is loaded as shown in the figure below. Determine
the following:

2. The force acting in the internal connection.
3. Shear and moment at segment BC, 1.5 𝑚 < 𝑥 < 3 𝑚.
