TEODORO- Sonnet CXVI Enrichment Activity

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16

“Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself
inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in
unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures
all things. Love never fails. “-1 Corinthians 13:4-8

These thoughts about a true love from the bible inspired me to write this simple poem:

UNCONDITIONALLY, UNSPEAKABLE GIFT

I was once lost in the dark

On my way, I was blind

I was stuck in a world hearing lies that it made me deaf

I was also muted, I was nothing, like I was dead

One day in the dark a tiny light appeared, I followed it

As I walk towards, the light gets bigger

In every step, my path gets more vivid, It gets brighter

I already see true things, I am not blind anymore

“I am always talking to you, but you can’t hear me, ” He said

Now I can hear a voice, I am not a deaf anymore

I tried speaking, and I said “Who are you?”

Now I already can speak, I am not mute anymore

He said, “I am your Father in heaven. I gave my only begotten son to save you. I LOVE YOU.”

I started crying, by His grace, now I exist

Unconditionally, He gave me an unspeakable gift,

I started bowing, from nothing He made me His everything
