Elizabeth of Hungary”
Source: https://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=45
According to the story about the life of St. Elizabeth, St. Elizabeth's
life was full of love and faith, it was consumed deeply by her devotion to
God and her charitable labor. Christian faith is an experience of being loved
by God in and through the embodiment of God’s love, Jesus Christ. Her
Christian faith is what deeply justified and gave meaning to her social
responsibility, her love for her neighbor and her work for holistic liberation.
To concretely show her gratitude and devotion to Christ, she selflessly
gave herself to the loving service of others because of her Christian faith,
which can be clearly seen through her remarkable generosity toward the
poor her whole life. In other words, St. Elizabeth’s social responsibility is
her response of gratitude to Christ’s call to follow Him. The Christian social
responsibility is an integral dimension of her Christian faith.
