2.The area of a triangle is 48cm2.Its base is 12 cm .Find its altitude. ( 1mark)
3. Verify whether x = 1,3 are zeroes of the polynomial x3-6x2+11x-6 ( 2 mark)
4. Factorise 2 x2 -7x -15 (2 marks)
5. Prove that sum of the angles of a triangle is 180 degree. ( 3 marks)
6.Plot the points A(1,3),B(1,-1),C(7,-1) ,D(7,3).Join the points . Name the
figure obtained .Find the area. ( 3 marks)
7.What must be added to x3 -3x2 -12x + 19 so that the result is exactly
divisible by x2 + x -6? (3 marks)

8. Find the rational values of a and b if √2-√5 = a + b√10 ( 3 marks)

9.The sides AB and AC of a triangle ABC are produced to P and Q respectively.

The bisectors of angle PBC and angle QCB intersect at O .Prove that
Angle BOC = 900 – angle (BAC)/2 ( 4 marks)
10. Find the cost of laying grass in a triangular field of sides 50m,65m and
65m at the rate of Rs 7 per sq m.(using Herons formula) ( 4 marks)
11. In a right triangle ABC , right angled at C, M is the mid point of
hypotenuse AB, C is joined to M and produced to a point D such that DM=CM
.Point D is joined to point B .Show that ( 4 marks)
i) ΔAMC ≡ Δ BMD
ii) < DBC is a right angle.
iii) ΔDBC ≡ Δ ACB
iv) CM = AB/2
