§ Pressure gauge selection guidelines for MPa (g) units are obtainable by dividing
the kPa (g) values listed above by 1000.
a. Provide compound gauge with appropriate upper range value on discharge of any pump taking
suction from a vessel operating under a vacuum.
b. Provide compound gauge at any ejector inlet.
c. Provide a pulsation dampener on any gauge associated with a reciprocating compressor or with a
reciprocating or proportioning pump.
d. Provide an excess flow check valve on inlet of any gauge operating above 1000 psig or
70 kg/cm2 (g) or 70 bar (g) or 7000 kPa (g) or 7 MPa (g).
