5. What will be the contractor's advantage and the owner’s disadvantage if the Architect
fails to specify correctly?
If the Architect fails to specify correctly, the contractor can add or remove details from
the said specification to benefit him. Such changes can give him more time and money
which he can keep to himself without the client even knowing. In such cases this will be
the disadvantage of the owner. Failure to specify correctly can cause corruption in the
site, and even degrading the owner the quality of work he/she should get from the
Architect.
