The school administration and management has keenly followed the conversation by the school’s

alumni. We appreciate the great concern, attachment and pride the alumni have to the school. The
various suggestions and recommendations have been noted. It is true that the performance of the
school is not where all of us would have wished to be. The table below shows the trend of the
performance of the institution over the last decade.

2020 2019 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011

8.3030 8.3740 8.0464 7.5414 8.4379 10.9722 10.3732 9.6960 10.0600 9.8795

It is important to note that there was a drastic shift in the grading system from 2016.It is our belief that
we can always do better. The school has been working consistently to improve it results from the new
baseline.

An analysis of the 2020 results indicates that our tail was reduced significantly but the number of top
grades reduced. The transition rate for this class was 88%, the highest since 2016. Our school strategic
target mean was 9.5 and this was not achieved. The school administration together with the staff have
done an analysis of the results and come up with strategies for the improvement of the performance.
The competition from emerging schools has been noted and all is being done to reclaim our rightful
position as SHS.

The school also has a strategic focus guided by its third strategic plan. We are cognisant of the emerging
risks and we have developed action plans to mitigate these risks. The school is fully focused on its vision,
mission and value proposition in all its undertakings.

Strengthening of relationships with the alumni is one of our strategic goals. This underlines the
importance of the engagements in this forum. We will continue the engagements as the alumni play an
important role in the success of the institution and in the mentorship of our leaners.

Thank you.

Principal SHS.
