I strongly support the view that life begins at conception and abortion is tantamount to murder.

This is because abortion involves ethical issues. For example, for the pro-life party, abortion is
depriving an innocent child's right to life. One pro-life advocate argues that unborn babies who
are biologically like us are human beings - we are not just "blocks of cells" - or humans or
humans. Since we are all these things, and it is often wrong to kill us, so is killing unborn babies
- since there is no critical difference between us and a human fetus, they assert. (Nobis, 2021).
Ross Douthat argues this in his recent New York Times article, "The Case Against Abortion." He
observes that differences in "reasoning capacity or self-consciousness" and "capacity for survival
and self-direction" are not viable differences between us and fetuses, since many born human
beings lack these, yet are still persons with basic rights. (Nobis, 2021). However, pro-choice
advocates argue that people have the right to choose to have an abortion because they have
physical autonomy. Many women believe that their body is their own and that they have the right
to make their own decisions about whether to abort or keep the pregnancy in some unwanted
cases. According to Warren says, "…a woman is under no moral obligation to complete an
unwanted pregnancy" (Warren, 315). Although abortion offers some medical benefits (Harvard
University, 2022), except for some unavoidable circumstances, abortion is not recommended for
most people.
