INTRODUCTION
❖ Mapping is technique used to record and represent information graphically. It’s usually
conducted at the Inventory-making and Analysis stage. Date from the site is gathered
and documented for further investigation.
❖ Activity mapping studies, records and analyses the various activities that happen in a
certain area during specific time intervals. The various advantages through activity
mapping are :
❖ Helps identify the concentration of specific user groups in certain places
❖ Helps identify areas that require crowd control or effective traffic management.
❖ Gives an idea about the level of development or economic standing of a place.
❖ Gives an idea about the necessary structures and facilities that need to be added on for
areas where activities are high.
❖ Helps create solutions for spreading the activities to increase accessibility instead of
concentrating them in certain areas.
❖ Helps identify places that have potential for further development in the future.
