Types of family
1.Nuclear family: A family in which parents and their children live
together is called a nuclear family.
2.Joint family: A family in which grandparents, uncles, aunts and their
children live together is called a joint family.
3.Single parent family: In a single parent family, children live with
either mother or father. This happens as the parents are separated.

New members are added to our families from time to time when –
 a baby is born.
 a family member gets married.
 a child is adopted.

Importance of family

All family members help us in many ways to shape our personality. In an ideal
family all the family members share and care for each other. All family members
try to solve each other’s problems. They also give moral support to each other
during sad times. They celebrate special occasions together. Each family has its
own rules, culture and traditions, which are passed on from one generation to
another.
