HOSTING SPEECH

S: “We read and write poetry because we are members of the human
race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law,
business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to
sustain life. But, poetry, art, music these are what we stay alive for.”

Good afternoon to all present here.

Today, we are gathered here for the inauguration of the two clubs, the
theater club ‘Parizaad’ and the literary and Oratory club ‘Clique’, and we
hope that by the end of the event you all will leave knowing that these clubs
will do justice to the purpose for which they are formed.

It gives us immense pleasure to welcome you all. Welcome to J. Arun

Tandon Sir, Principal Ma'am, Prof. Lalima Singh, esteemed faculty
members and all dear students present here today. We want you to know
that we value your presence, and we're extremely grateful.

score a success in this. We want you to know that we value your support,
Thankyou so much for believing in us.

A: So, before giving further details regarding the forming of the clubs and
the activities that they will hold, we would like to start the event with a
devotional tribute,Vandanna, which will be sung by the students of Saroj
Lalji Mehrotra Center of legal studies. We would like to invite the students
to the stage.

S: (What a pleasant and beautiful rendition by the students. Thank you.)

1. Niharika Nigam
2. Shriyanshi Singh
3. Pragati Prakash
4. Eva, and

A: Sharmistha, don't you think how complicated and distressing would it be

if there were no languages in the world? If there was no medium to
communicate, we would be able to speak but wouldn't know what to say.

S: Definitely it would be Anjali, and that's I believe that language is the

most crucial and inevitable invention by the human race. It would have
been almost impossible for any religion and history to ever exist without
language.

A & S: Knowing the importance and evolution of languages in reading and

writing, we have formed the literary and oratory club,CLIQUE, which will
help the students to involve and evolve in the pool of literature.

A: Sharmistha, do you think literature and language is only about written

texts or does it have any other forms too?

S: No Anjali, actually it would've been unfair to the humans, if they

restricted languages to texts, therefore, when literature is performed, it
becomes an act, and then, it not only includes language, but also
dedication, passion and the strongest of human emotions to put up the act.

A&S: Knowing the importance of art and acting, we have formed the
theater club, PARIZAAD, which will help the students in gaining confidence
and stimulating creativity.
S: But Anjali, what intrigues me the most is the name of the theatre club, I
mean why is it called Parizaad? Like, is there a story behind it or is it just a
random Google search?

A: No no it's not a Google search, Infact, it does have a story, but, before
answering your question and diving more into the details of the clubs, we
have a treat to the senses - a dance performance, prepared by the
students of the Center of legal studies. Please put your hands together for
our dance group.

S: (What an entertaining and lively performance by the students.)

The names of students in the dance group are -

2. Mahi Srivastava - 4 yr

7. Meenakshi Shukla - 1
8. Nandini - l yr

A: Moving on……

S: No no Anjali, I think you're forgetting something, you still have not

answered my question.

A: Yes, about that, well the answer to this question is not in a sentence but
in a poem. We would like to call on stage, Shikha Vishwakarma from
BALLB 4th year, to recite the poem written by her.

(What a powerful and inspiring poem, and this is how we got the name,
Parizaad.)
S: Now, moving on to the overview part, we would like to brief you all with
the aims and objectives of the clubs.
With the help of these clubs, by and for the students of the center of legal
studies, we will be able to conduct events that will give the law students the
exposure to embrace their creativity.

We all have a reader and writer in ourselves, for instance if any subject or
topic interests us, we refer to more than one book or various articles to
have a better understanding of that concept, and in that course
somewhere, we have become readers and even writers. To support that
scholar in us, we've formed the literary and oratory club, CLIQUE, which
will help students to refine their literary skills.
This will help students in analyzing issues and coming up with solutions
while also developing organization and persuasive skills. It will provide
them with practical skills that are much needed in various workplace
This club would enhance the ability of the members to be involved with the
campus and community. Through these endeavors, we aim to cultivate an
atmosphere of intellectual curiosity, to build confidence to be at ease not
only professionally but also socially.

This club will have a composition of 4 branches.

First being, Promising Pages, this will help in enhancement of legal

writing, drafting legal documents and writing research papers, and the
submission of those in Call for Papers activities. To assist them throughout
from writing to publishing papers.

The next branch is, Pursuing the dispute, here we can prepare the
students for the debate competitions, and speeches that frequently happen.
And we will also conduct events regarding debates, declamations, just a
minutes, quizzes, extempores and MUNs on monthly and yearly basis, so
that it will give the students a boost to confidence and they will not lose grip
on their speaking skills and will be able to speak up and put their thoughts
and opinions more confidently and clearly.
Some students are good at journaling,so through Owl Post, they can
improve their journalism characteristics and with that we will soon start the
circulation of e-newsletters from the college through this department of
Clique.

Then comes my favourite one, Books with a crew, which will give space to
all readers where they can sit, talk about and review their favorite books or
novels where they can read a piece of it and can give views on that
particular piece, which will make them more aware and accustomed to the
little details of the books and can have a very different outlook.

Law is a very flexible field, and one can have various career options and
many opportunities in this particular course. We are forming these clubs
because every student has its own caliber and excellence and through
these clubs they can experiment with their creativity and try out different
things and they should get a space where they can embrace that quality
and move forward with their interests.

Now, we will move on to our next segment, which is a book review.

……….

Theater is a form of artistic expression and story-telling that has existed

and been celebrated for centuries. It entertains, teaches, shocks, and
delights both for those onstage, backstage, and in the audience. A theater
club can help build confidence, community, and creativity in students. With
that approach we've formed the theater club, PARIZAAD, under which we
will conduct theater plays, nukkad nataks, case law enactments, movie
screenings, short films, workshops and plays on legal and social issues.
We will also provide legal aid and promote awareness through workshops
and campaigns. This will help students build their communication and
presentation skills and such plays will help them understand the concept of
law and particular case laws in a very creative way. Not only will we
conduct events, but will also represent the college in various competitions,
fests, and cultural events.
Now, the next and the last performance by our students, is a play, which
will mark the beginning of the many theater plays that will be performed
under the aegis of this club, Parizaad. So now, we will call upon stage our
actors of the play named, “Dil hai ke maanta nahi, phone hai ki choot’ta
nahi.”

The names of the students in the play are -

1. Darshita Srivastava - 4 yr - Dadu
2. Mahi Srivastava - 4 yr - Rampyari
3. Drishti Pandey -1 yr - Babloo
4. Prashansha Singh - 4 yr - Pushpakali
5. Anjali Singh- 3 yr - Pushpendra
6. Yashashvi Mishra - 1 yr - Ganga
7. Shrishti Agarwal - 1 yr
8. Aradhya Agrahari -1 yr - Pappu
9. Shriyanshi - 4 yr
10. Niharika Nigam - 4 yr
11. Pragati Prakash - 4 yr
12. Eva - 4 yr
13. Karishma Kesarwani - 1 yr
14. Meenakshi Shukla -1 yr
