CASE ANALYSIS- 1

STATE UNIVERSITY BOARD OF REGENTS: What Am I Living For?

Based on the evidence, I believe that the three of them engaged in inappropriate behavior
that resulted in bad judgments and adverse results. Dr. Agao, in my perspective, was the
source of the problem. From the beginning, he had a potential conflict of interest. To begin
with, he couldn't believe that he had lost to Mr. Bundoc and the other board members. He
should know how to accept failure since winning does not always come, and we cannot always
get what we want. Second, he attempted to bribe Mr. Bundoc's wife by giving her a job in the
university's catering service to influence her and eventually persuade her husband to
reconsider his stance and accept the offer. These acts accurately represent his personality,
which is arrogant, greedy, and manipulating.

Mrs. Bundoc, on the other hand, made a mistake by trusting Dr. Argao and becoming
complacent without realizing his true and hidden agenda. She became overwhelmed by the
circumstance and allowed herself to be influenced to achieve what she desired. In my opinion,
this makes her selfish in terms of being the link between Dr. Agao and his husband to have a
better relationship to create a favorable impression on him and engage in further interactions
with him for her benefit.

I also believe that Mr. Bundoc was being unreasonable and not a man of his word by agreeing
with Dr. Agao in the end. He is the student's advocate, implying that he should emphasize
their voices and positions. If he believes that raising their tuition will be difficult, he should
keep his promise and not allow anyone, even her wife, to influence his choice. To put it
another way, he must preserve his professionalism and decency to ensure everyone that he
is doing his job as their representative and not allowing everyone else to dictate to him for
any reason, regardless of how his choice may affect those around him.
