ACKNOWLEDGE

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for giving me knowledge
and wisdom to do this portfolio and also to help me attend my everyday
classes. And also I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to
my teachers, friends, classmates and specially to my parents. Thank you
for for all of your supports and also for giving me inspiration to never
give up in my life and to be strong everyday. To my School, Queen Anne
School of Santa Rosa. Thank you for allowing me to learn and meet new
friends. Thank you for guiding me in my grade 11 and 12 journeys.

Creative Writing
In this picture, I added some fictional characters from my favorite film Harry Potter. I
chose this picture because it shows fiction which is also related to our subject.

The activity that I remember our teacher told us to do is to write a free-verse poem.
So I write a poem about a friend because poems about love are common and if I
make one I think it will be about the boy who didn't like me back so I decided to
write about a friend. while I was doing the poem I asked my friend what is the best
memories we have when we are just kids so that I can put them on my poem. I think
what I made was very unique because it is a poem about the best memories we got
when we are just kids, I think everyone's poem is unique because they made them
also it's their ideas and experience.

Through this class, I have become a lot better at writing poetry and at incorporating
a theme into my poems. I learned that not all poems have to rhyme and that some
of the best poems do not rhyme at all. It has taught me not only about myself on
how to be a good writer but about myself as a person. It has been amazing to watch
my writing style improve in all of the areas that we worked on. My writing style has
noticeably improved after taking this class. In the past I struggled with gathering all
of my ideas together to form one common theme, but now I have improved in terms
of theme. My poetry especially has all been formed around and also this class
thought me so many things like how to write a story because before, i was not
interested in writing or reading stories but not, it improved myself and also my
writing skills. Creative Writing Subject helps me to improve communication towards
writing and to to help me to express myself better, It helps me to be more creative
on my ideas, emotions, and plot. To give a better and clearer message. In any
instance, creative writing makes you step out of reality and into a new realm inspired
by your imagination. With creative writing you're able to express feelings and
emotions instead of cold, hard facts, as you would in academic writing.
Creative Nonfiction

I put a lot of details in this picture that has a connection to our subject.
But also some of them are not related to the subject but I also added it
to make the picture look cute.

In this subject, the activity that I remember our teacher told us to do is

to write our reoccurring dream. So my reoccurring dream is about
spending my day with my family and the next day we go to Korea. I think
my dream is awesome because i never been in Korea and i wanted to go
there, maybe my dream is saying that it will happen someday.

It is called creative non-fiction because it should be based on true events.

And it should be factual, not the same as fiction, which is our
imagination's pure commodity. You should read first when writing non-
fiction to get all the truth straight. I learned that creative nonfiction is a
genre of nonfiction writing that incorporates different creative writing
techniques and literary styles to convey truthful, non-fictional narratives.
Creative nonfiction writing tends to emphasize story and tone over more
traditional sub genres of nonfiction. And I also learned that understands
reality after reading non-fiction. While fiction, sometimes takes you to
the imaginative world, non-fiction unfolds the reality you get to know
real people and their lives. It also gives knowledge in a specific subject
which helps in learning new things and it also provides you with facts.
Creative nonfiction is a powerful tool for educating and gaining fresh
perspectives. To write a captivating work of nonfiction, you need to be
able to use a variety of tools and strategies. Creative nonfiction gives the
writer more opportunity to accentuate specific topics or points of view
while being based on truth. This subject also helped me how to critique
and how to write a critique paper.
Introduction to World Religions and Belief Systems

The picture shows symbols of every religion in the world which is our
topic in the subject. Introduction to the world religion gives me an idea
of how people worship and what are their beliefs.

In this subject our teacher gives us an activity. In this activity we need to

do meditation and write our experience and pass it on our google
classroom. Before i did the meditation i finished first the things that i
need to do so that i will concentrate to my meditation it took 15 minutes
and then i write down my experience and pass it already.

World Religion helped me understand and learn a lot about other

people's religions and beliefs. It allows me to appreciate their
uniqueness and also similarities, it promotes mutual understanding
among their different faiths.
Studying other's beliefs can help our understanding also on their
spiritual, moral, social, and cultural that surface again and again in their
lives. It is overwhelming knowing that there’s a lot of people have their
own culture and beliefs.
Also, I learned that a person that denies the existence of God is called an
Atheist. As it is frequently said, atheists believe that it is false that God
exists, or that God's existence is a speculative hypothesis of an
extremely low order of probability. Atheists can come in three varieties
the nonreligious, the nonbelievers, and the agnostic. Even though
atheism is not a religion, atheism is protected by many of the same
Constitutional rights that protect religion. That, however, does not mean
that atheism is itself a religion, only that our sincerely held (lack of)
beliefs are protected in the same way as the religious beliefs of others.
Similarly, many “interfaith” groups will include atheists. This, again, does
not mean that atheism is a religious belief. Some groups will use words
like Agnostic, Humanist, Secular, Bright, Freethinker, or any number of
other terms to self-identify. Those words are perfectly fine as a self-
identifier, but we strongly advocate using the word that people
understand: Atheist. Don’t use those other terms to disguise your
atheism or to shy away from a word that some think has a negative
connotation. We should be using the terminology that is most accurate
and that answers the question that is actually being asked. We should
use the term that binds all of us together.
Discipline and ideas in the Social Sciences

Discipline and Ideas in the Social Sciences (Diss) is one of my favorite

subjects and I gather some pictures that I think will symbolize
something related to the subject. I put Andres Bonifacio on the left side
of the picture because I still remember that our teacher discuss that and
also the ancient people which is on the upper right side.

In this subject our teacher gave us an activity about Marxism. We just

need to tell what is Marxism and what is the Marxist beliefs so i googled
first all about Marxism and then i answered the activity and passed it.

In our discussion, I've got gained lots of information that may

undoubtedly be useful in my future career, and our teacher has provided
us with lots of information. I used to be inspired to create further
attempts to help others and concentrate on their various stories. I've got
to confess that I felt conflicted during the discussions. While it was a
challenge, I enjoyed learning new things with the assistance of our
teacher and my classmates. In relation to this, social sciences are very
important disciplines that needed to be studied because understanding
the behaviors of each species at present comes with the capability to
think and create solutions that would solve the social issues since what
we experience now is the result of what happened in the past. These
solutions are the central importance of why social sciences, although
often overlooked, are still needed. Despite the short period of discussion.
It was still a very meaningful one, it enriched my confidence and created
a foundation for being a good citizen someday. It caused a very huge
effect on me as a HUMSS student. I learned to be diplomatic in both
action and words. Every meeting we had It help me to improve my
personal, emotional social as well as physical, and mental aspects.
Community Engagement, Solidarity, and Citizenship

Community Engagement, Solidarity, and Citizenship focus on

community-action initiatives such as community engagement, solidarity,
and citizenship as guided by the core values of human rights, social
justice, empowerment and advocacy, gender equality, and participatory
development. So in the picture, I put people working in the community,
rural and urban areas which is also the topic of the subject of the book
of law which symbolizes the laws in our country.

In this subject, our teacher gave us an activity. about global inequality. In

the activity, we must write an essay first before answering the four
questions. I gather some information to know more about what is global
inequality before I answer the essay. There's also a question there that
asks how can you contribute to changing global inequality. I answered
that we must start with ourselves first, we must teach ourselves to
accept everyone. Also, I added that we must spread positivity and avoid
racism because even if it's not big at least we know that we are doing
something to change the world and make it a better place

This subject focuses more on the essential concepts of human rights,

social justice, empowerment and advocacy, gender equality, and
participatory development guide community-action activities such as
community involvement, solidarity, and citizenship. Its goal is to increase
individuals feeling of group understanding and motivation to participate
in the community as a huge common benefit. The focus is to help pupils
develop a feeling of shared identity and a motivation to contribute to
the community's common good. It allows students to apply social
sciences to community-action projects. It aspires for the betterment of
society instead of specific and limited local purposes. It is based not only
on knowledge but also on a good return personality, a genuinely
participatory character, and a natural concern for the happiness and
welfare of others. Society needs to provide structures and a meaningful
experience for the community participation to come up with a plan to fix
social problems and turn them into a good situations. This will allow
community people to participate in public decision-making activities
while also enlightening and informing them on policy problems that
affect the quality of life. Community engagement enables government
and public situation organizations to listen and, as a result, showcase the
benefits of community participation through feedback.
Philippine Politics and Governance

I chose this picture for this subject because you can see that all of it is
about governance or voting which is related to the subject and also I put
some people because the people symbolize the citizens of our country.

The only activity I can remember on this subject is the essay about our
president. The essay is about is our country in good hands? and my
answer to that question is very simple I just answer yes and explain why.

Philippine politics and governance thought me a lot of great things. It is

very important to know this subject especially for me because I want to
learn more about politics. In my understanding as a student, politics is
described as the actions of politicians who recognize the common
interests of the entire society and each of its divisions. Even though
there are numerous changes in how it is defined and applied, the
emphasis on rules and system attributes, collaboration to improve
legitimacy and effectiveness, and attention to new procedures and
public-private partnerships are all common features. The concept's
apparent success appears to be due to the societal need for new efforts
based on the recognition of increasing societal inter dependencies. The
essay examines a variety of applications.
Megatrends and Critical Thinking in the 21st Century Culture

I chose this picture because it symbolizes the lessons that we tackle in

this subject. I also added the internet above because of ICT. In this
subject, I learn also about the difference between trends and fads

In this subject, our teacher asked us to do an activity about social media

utilization. In the activity, we have to put a check mark if we are using
those kinds of social media, we also need to indicate the year we started
using it. While I was doing the activity I also indicate the reason why I'm
using those king of social media and how it affects my life as a student.
The activity is not that easy to do because of some of the social
networks that I used, I don't know the reason why it affects my life as a
student.

When I initially found that Trends, Networks, and Critical Thinking would
be our second semester course, I had no idea what it was all about. I was
planning on discussing current events in our country and around the
world. Which did not fail me because trends were the first issue we
discussed with our subject teacher during our first appointment. The
Trends Network and Critical Thinking in the Twenty-First Century helps
us learn more efficiently by allowing us to think critically and intelligently
under duress. It is quite important while making decisions. The
information and attitude about the topic shape a person's ability to be a
competent and accurate member of society. This lesson was really
beneficial to me since it taught me a great deal, particularly about ICT. I
used to think that ICT was only about computers, but it is much more
than that.
Discipline and Ideas in the Applied Social Sciences (DIAS)

I chose this picture because our subject also talks about counseling and
learning about counseling is helpful to me. Visiting a counselor is
important because this will help us with our problems and they will
make us feel like we are not alone and they will believe that we can
conquer our fears in life.

In this subject, our teacher gave us an activity. In the activity, we need to

make an essay about the relationship between pure social sciences and
applied social science. Before I did the essay I gathered some data to
know more about the topic of the essay and I must say that I did great
on that essay even though my essay is not that long I still try my best to
explain what I want to say.

I learn a lot in this subject. Counseling is one of the fields of applied

social sciences. I learn that counseling is good for everyone and also it
gives me an idea of how to manage a problem in any situation. I also
learn how counselors do their job when they have a client and this gives
me more knowledge to pursue my passion of becoming a Policewoman
because being a Policewoman is not just about guns, prison, or anything
that you can think of it is also about how to manage a situation, it is also
about how to counsel someone's problem or talking to someone that
has a problem and you are the only person that will make them calm
down because sometimes people think that police will handle things and
everything will be okay.
