Course Outline LLO Pilot 2022-23

Description: The specific learning outcomes for Post Intensive French are developed through a number of
topics, including, but not limited to:

Family, friends, self


Travel, hobbies, interests, sports
Seasons
School, community
Holidays, celebrations, health, food, nutrition
Environment
Technology and inventions
Media
Canadian Identity

Teacher Expectations of Students: Each student should have a duo-tang and a Hilroy or similar exercise book.
(please no coil books) Students should have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and should exhibit
proper classroom behaviour.

Classroom Rules and Procedures:


1) Be in the classroom when the bell sounds.
2) Only one person speaks at a time.
3) Water is permitted in a re-sealable container only.

Content: Unit 1 – La musique


Unit 2 – Le petit écran
Unit 3 – Le Canada-Identité Canadien
Unit 4 - Les régions géographique du Canada
Unit 5 - Le sirop d’érable
Unit 6 - Les autochtones

Evaluation: 60% oral (spoken production, spoken interaction and listening)


20% reading (comprehension, fluency, accuracy, responding to reading)
20% writing (modeled, independent, genres, conventions, accuracy, fluency)
There will be an oral proficiency evaluation in the fall to get a base line for the pilot and a
follow up in spring to see how well the students have done. As this is a pilot we will
need to be accountable to the Department of Education for our results. These oral results will not
be counted towards marks for the report card. We will also be using My Blueprint to collect oral
samples. Students will create a scrap book for the Social Studies component of the course and
this will be taught following the Post intensive philosophy. It is our goal for students to be
approaching or at the B1.1 level (intermediate) in their oral language.
