communication
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

There is a wide range of ways in which we can send and receive

messages without using words.

90% of all face-to-face communication is supported by our body

language.

Facial expressions, gestures (hands), body posture, eye contact,

distance/proximity, appearance, among others, play an important
role in the message we get accross.
Verbal Communication

MORE THAN WORDS

Verbal communication involves the expression of ideas, emotions or

information though the use of our voice.

Our voice resorts to some "special effects" which convey meanings

related to the speaker's mood/feelings, the speaker's attitude/feelings
towards the listener, the speaker's reaction to the message or to the
situation where communication is taking place.
The term "verbal communication" does not
refer to the words we use, but to specific
WAYS for saying such words.

By listening to someone's voice, we can

tell if they are tired, surprised, angry, if
they are close to or far from the listener, if
they are in a hurry, or if they don't want to
be heard by other people.
