Objectives of the Study

The study will attempt to investigate students’ engagement and academic


performance through online-assisted investigative case-based learning in Earth
Science.

Specifically, it aims to:

1. Identify the students’ engagement as exposed to online-assisted investigative


case-based learning in relation to:
a. Cognitive engagement
b. Behavioral engagement
c. Emotional engagement; and
d. Social engagement
2. Determine the students’ academic performance as exposed to online-assisted
investigative case-based learning in relation to:
a. Critical thinking
b. Collaborative skills
c. Creativity and innovation
3. Find out the significant difference in students’ engagement and academic
performance as exposed to an investigative case-based learning strategy and
a non-investigative case-based learning strategy through the online-assisted
mode of learning.
