Bernhard Jasper was born in Germany at the 18th of November 1972.

He is a cinematographer and director.

With the age of 14 he started making short lms and music clips himself, using the local school kit
and later, at 15, his own rst lm camera. At the age of 19 he had several short lms made and
entered one into an amateur lm fes val.

Finally, he passed the entrance test of the Filmacademy Ludwigsburg (Germany) in 1996 and studied
direc ng and cinematography there for ve years, making approx. 25 short lms, several Music clips
and some commercials. During the academy he specialized himself in cinematography and became
the opportunity to work in the real lm business. So he shot a lot of commercials and music clips for
famous German music acts and companies.

A er his nal degree in 2001 he shot his rst TV movie. This was the access for him to the German
Film market. Since than he shot 9 TV Features and 21 Movies, most of which are among the most
successful German box o ce lms. He also shot the interna onal movies „Open water 2“ and „Life
above all“ who made it into the Oscar shortlist 2011.

For both seasons of the rst German Amazon series „You Are Wanted“ (2017-2019), Bernhard Jasper
was not only responsible for the cinematography, but also for the direc on. He’s currently working on
a prequel for Zack Snyder´s Army o the dead.
