SUBJECT Anti-Piracy Training Module for Seafarers

DATE 22 September 2011

Further to Memorandum Circular No. 02, series of 2010, requiring all

seafarers to undergo Anti-Piracy Awareness Seminar, a standard training
module on the minimum standard for the conduct of in-house Anti-Piracy
Awareness Seminar by manning agencies was developed by the Maritime
Training Council (MTC) in coordination with the National Maritime Polytechnic
(NMP).

The Anti-Piracy Training Module for Seafarers was pilot-tested and the
various stakeholders in the industry were consulted and their comments
incorporated in the module. All manning agencies are therefore required to
adopt the MTC-NMP crafted Anti-Piracy Trai ning Module for Seafarers to
ensure the uniformity of contents and substance of the training module for anti-
piracy awareness seminars.

This Circular takes effect 15 days from date of publication on newspaper

of general circulation.
