1080p is now ready for you.
HDTV ENDOCAM® 5550 offers you a picture
quality you would normally only find in the
cinema. The camera produces pictures using
the progressive scan 1080p technique. This
standard exceeds even the highest current
HDTV broadcast standard 1080i.

HDTV ENDOCAM® 5550 provides the highest

possible resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels
that can be displayed with full fidelity on
suitable widescreen LCD monitors in 16:9
format.

The advantage of the 1080p signal compa-

red with 1080i is that a full field progressive
signal is fed to the LCD monitor. The monitor
no longer needs to handle field management
itself with its associated loss of quality. Fast
movements are displayed with sharp crisp
definition and fatigue-free surgery is the result.

HD endoscope
The entire endoscopic image chain must be
HD-compatible. Only then can it be guaran-
teed that the display on the monitor meets
your highest expectations.
Richard Wolf demands the highest perfor-
mance from all the components in the end-
oscopic image chain to achieve unbeatably
sharp crisp detail and colour brilliance. This
applies equally to the HD endoscopes, the
HDTV camera head, the digital control unit
and the LCD monitor.
HD camera head
HDSDI. The professional signal.
To ensure documentation and signal transfer
of the endoscopically generated HDTV ima-
ges without loss, HDSDI is the only profes-
sional standard. This signal is used directly
for live image transmission to neighbouring
rooms or via satellite. No signal conversion
is necessary.
HD processing
DVI. The direct digital signal.
The highest quality HDTV standard 1080p is
available at the DVI output too. DVI is con-
nected directly to the HD monitor or HD docu-
mentation systems. The result: best possible
image quality for the surgeon and perfect
image archiving.
