Gathering Goals Pyramid

Write each of your career goals within the three points: Job Satisfaction, Lifestyle, and
Compensation. Are your goals gathering more to one corner? Do you land between two points?
Or do you land right smack in the middle? With this exercise each career decision requires you to
make a thoughtful trade-off based on your current goals, your desired career path, and your
personal life values.

Here’s what each point means:

1. Job Satisfaction: pertains to the quality of the job on a whole. This encompasses the people
you work with, the tasks you work on, the impact you impart, the organization’s culture, the
opportunity for growth and development, and the intellectual component.

2. Lifestyle: deals with the number of working hours, control of your schedule (can you pick the
kids up from school?), the daily commute, the amount of overtime, the required travel, and
vacation time.

3. Compensation: includes salary, overtime pay, bonuses, retirement plans, health and dental
plans, and job title.

Also keep in mind that the solution to all the problems in your life will always automatically fall under
three main categories

To meet each of your needs and satisfy your highly evolved emotional system—thereby fulfilling your purpose in
life—you must focus on three vital areas. Every time you have marked success in any of these areas, your mind
rewards you with a feeling of happiness.

Refers to both the body and the
mind. You need good habits,
good welfare and a good
nutrition to maintain your health.
Refers to abundance and
riches. It helps you to maintain
your health and your
relationships. You need a roof
over your head, good clothes on
your back, and food in your
stomach. Additional creature
comforts assist in your survival
and replication as well as your
path towards a successful
lifestyle. You need a proven
wealth-building game plan to
achieve financial independence.
Refers mainly to your romantic
relationships but may also
extend to friends, family
members, and business
relationships with associates. If
you want to have successful
loving relationships, you must
study them. If you want to spend
more time with your family you
need to keep a balance
between work, self development
and sharing with your loved
ones.
