FAQ For candidates of amazee.io! You've got the interview but don't know what to expect. We've provided this handy FAQ to get you prepared, settle the nerves, and see the best of you. Good Luck! How should I prepare myself for the interview process? Most importantly, be real and be yourself, We want to make sure we get the purest and best version of you. Don't feel like you need to come overly prepared with a script to read from, You should take some time to familiarize yourself with the job description again, noting any relevant experience you have. We also appreciate it when each candidate spends a litle time researching the company and position, which can lead to the most engaging conversations, Also consider any questions you have, and think about your own expectations from an employer and team. How do | prepare for a video interview? The link to the video interview will be in the calendar invite. I's best to check the connection before your interview starts to save any stress. Prior to the interview, check your sound, microphone, and video. If you prefer, Zoom also has virtual background options On the day, try and find a quiet spot free of noise and distractions if you can. Get comfortable, and place your laptop/iPad/notebook etc with the camera at eye level when seated, ideally. What's the dress code? Feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, and don't feel like you have to dress up too formal. We havea casual dress code in our day-to-day work What sort of questions or interview should | expect? We take a structured but flowing approach to our interviews, We will start off with brief introductions and then head into some pre-planned questions and allow the conversation to develop. The questions will be looking to assess topics such as technical fit, behavioural approach to work, and your soft skills We always find it more productive to have a conversation and it won't be super formal, so feel free to ‘ask questions throughout, as and when they come to mind, What's a structured interview and why do you have them? While our approach isn't rigidly structured, we do use structured interview questions throughout the recruitment process. Structured interviews involve in part, pre-planned questions which are asked consistently to each candidate, and have been assessed to elicit answers key to any particular role, By having these pre-planned questions as starting points for conversations, we can assess each candidate based on their merits, and help remove unintentional bias or discrimination from our recruitment process, which can be more prevalent in an unstructured approach, What does the entire recruitment process look like, and how long does it take? Each role has a unique interview process in terms of its contents, but we try and follow these basic steps for each position: STAGE 1 - Video screening with the HR Manager STAGE 2 - Video Call with the Team/Hiring lead STAGE 3 - Technical/Specialist Assessment related to the role STAGE 4 - “Ask me anything’ or AMA ~ This is when you meet the wider team on a video call, and both parties get to ask any questions they want to know about each other. We will always try to give you feedback within 1 week of completing each stage, and in general our process takes between 4-6 weeks. What do you look for in a candidate?
