1. What is Rizal Law? Discuss its content.

Rizal law is about the implementation to include courses on the life, works, and writings of Jose
Rizal, particularly his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, in the curricula of all public
and private schools, colleges, and universities, authorizing their printing and distribution, and for
other purposes.

2. How did the Catholic Church and the Senators agree with the provisions of the Rizal Law?

Senator Jose Laurel introduced a compromise bill based on the proposals of Senators Roseller
Lim and Emmanuel Pelaez. RA 1425 went into effect on June 12, 1956. Students are permitted
to seek religious exemption from reading Rizal's works on the approved version. This is how the
Catholic Church and Senators agree with the provisions of the Rizal Law.

3. What is your opinion of the nationalism of our youth today? How can the life and works of Jose
Rizal help address this situation?

Nationalism has a horrible image today because our culture is being neglected or viewed
as less important due to our youth's limited understanding of and publicity to what is truly
ours. When people's views of the world around them and western meddling in social
institutions are so potent, beginning with a family that has been subjected to anything
and everything international, and continuing into an educational system that promotes
integration and other institutions that promote any and all unrelated to our national
identity.
The significance of independence and liberty was stressed to the youth through this republic act.
This act also presupposes that nationhood is a very influential source that our heroes have
accomplished by compromising their own lives. It has been passed down to us, and it is our
responsibility to cultivate and defend it. The youth were made aware of Jose Rizal's contributions
and principled life, who was a symbol of significant nationalism and unwavering love for the
nation. He personifies brilliance combined with humility and the prestige that comes with service.
This Republic Act has driven Rizal to be a model citizen for the country's youth.
