Evaluating a function – Is the process of replacing the variable x in the function f(x)

with a value from the function's domain then computing for the result. To denote that
we are evaluating f at a for some a in the domain of f, we write f(a).

Examples:
Even Function – A function is even if and only if f ( -x ) = f ( x ) for all x in the
domination of f. The right-hand side of the equation of an even function does not
chang even if x is replaced with -x.

Example:

Odd Function – A function is odd if and only if f ( -x ) = - f ( x ) for all x in the domain
of f.
