4. First Aid Measures

Description of first aid measures

First aid measures general: If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.
First aid measures after inhalation: IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position
comfortable for breathing. In case of breathing difficulties administer oxygen. In case of irregular breathing or
respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
First aid measures after skin contact: After contact with skin, take off immediately all contaminated clothing, and
wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.
First aid measures after eye contact: Rinse immediately carefully and thoroughly with eye-bath or water. Remove
contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
First aid measures after ingestion: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do not
induce vomiting. Immediately get medical attention.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Symptoms/injuries after inhalation: respiratory complaints. Gastrointestinal complaints. Nausea. Dizziness.
Excessive concentrations may cause nervous system depression, headache, and weakness leading to
unconsciousness.
Symptoms/injuries after skin contact: Tingling/irritation of the skin. Erythema (reddening).
Symptoms/injuries after eye contact: Tears. Conjunctival redness.
Symptoms/injuries after ingestion: gastrointestinal complaints. Abdominal pain, nausea. Vomiting. Central nervous
system depression.
Chronic symptoms: Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Symptoms of overexposure to vapours include
drowsiness, weakness, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dimming of vision.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treatment: Treat symptomatically

5. Fire-fighting Measures

Extinguishing media
Foam. Dry extinguishing powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Water fog.
Do not use a high-powered water jet as it will scatter the flames

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Flammable. May decompose on heating to release toxic components

Advice for fire-fighters

Precautionary measures fire: No naked lights. No smoking.
Firefighting instructions: Evacuate and limit access. Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool
endangered containers.
Protection during fire-fighting: Wear full chemical protective clothing. If technical exhaust or ventilation measures
are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn.
Other information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface
water.
