Application of Chemical
Reactor in industries.
A chemical reactor is a confined volume where chemical reactions take place.
In chemical engineering, it is frequently known as a process vessel employed to carry
out a chemical reaction. In chemical process analysis, it is one of the classic unit
operations.  Chemical reactors have always been considered as the heart of
chemical processes. Improved reactor design and operation will usually translate
into significant cost savings and revenue potentials for the chemical plants.

We have three idealized types used to determine the most

important variables of different chemical reactors:

 Continuous Stirred-Tank Reactor Model (CSTR)

 Batch reactor model,
 Plug Flow Reactor (PFR) model .
We can model many practical reactors by using a combination of these basic types.

Applications:

A continuous stirred-tank reactor is typically used for homogeneous liquid-

phase reactions. For the laboratory applications, we may also use it for a gas-
phase reaction for temporary measurements, especially for a catalysed reaction.

This type of equipment is most commonly used in industrial processing,

especially in continuous plants. Nevertheless, they are also used in the
pharmaceutical industry and in biological processes, like fermenters and cell
cultures.

In any type of industries such as the chemical industry, polymer industry, Dyes
and pigment industries, color industries, pharmaceutical industries, and many
more reactor plays an important role in a chemical reaction.
CSTR in Pharma Industry:
A continuous stirred tank glass reactor serves to estimate the
variables of the key operations units. At the same time, it makes use of a
continuous agitated tank reactor to attain a predefined level of output. It is by
far the most common kind of reactor that is employed in the field of
pharmaceuticals. This stems from its ability to facilitate many reactions and
applications.
