Secondary Internship Ac on Plan

Michelle Smith
Standard 1: Mission, Vision, and Improvement

Component 1.1 Program completers understand and demonstrate the capacity to collabora vely
evaluate, develop, and communicate a school mission and vision designed to re ect a core set of values
and priori es that include data use, technology, equity, diversity, digital ci zenship, and community.

1. evaluate an exis ng mission and vision statement

2. collabora vely design a school mission and vision that re ects a core set of values and
priori es

3. develop a comprehensive plan for communica ng the mission and vision

Ac on Plan Project Descrip on

CD Cyber Academy Mission Statement:

The Central Dauphin School District Cyber Academy provides our students with a personalized
virtual learning experience focused on student-teacher rela onships and individualized
academic achievement.

Mrs. Mar n and I will evaluate and collabora vely share the school’s design of the mission and vision
statements to adjust and/or make any changes that re ects the core values and priori es of the school
and district. Therea er, we will develop a comprehensive plan for communica ng the mission and vision
statements to our stakeholders (students, parents, sta , and community members). For instance, I will
share our mission and vision statements at our sta mee ngs and through discussions and conversa ons
along with communica on. The mission and vision will also be included on our agenda slide
presenta on , created by the students, where each mee ng will begin with the mission and vision and
addressed through discussion with sta on a monthly basis. Our mission and vision will also be shared
with stakeholders on our communica ons, my email signature and school website along with daily with
students. For example, every morning, during our Morning Mee ng, I will begin with our mission and
vision statement and display on our welcome slide each day created by the students.

Unique and Innova ve Aspects

While our school has mission and vision statements, I feel the mission and vision statements
need to be part of our every day lives and instruc on. By providing an opportunity to review
and discuss in with sta on a monthly basis, the team will engage with and ac vely par cipate
in the shared mission and vision statements of our school. By also including on my signature
email, I am sharing our mission and vision with everyone I connect and communicate with on an
on-going, daily basis.

Secondary Internship Ac on Plan

Michelle Smith
Standard 1: Mission, Vision, and Improvement

Component 1.2 Program completers understand and demonstrate the capacity to lead improvement
processes that include data use, design, implementa on, and evalua on.

1. evaluate exis ng improvement processes

2. design a collabora ve improvement process that includes key components (i.e. data
use, design, implementa on, and evalua on)

3. develop an implementa on process that supports the components and goals of the
improvement process

Ac on Plan Project Descrip on

(Improvement)
First, I will evaluate the exis ng improvement process for the school and school district. Then, I will
design a collabora ve improvement process that includes key components of data design,
implementa on, and evalua on. I will develop an implementa on process that supports the
components and goals of the improvement process. Speci cally, I will review the math data for
secondary students and math teachers to determine areas of need to focus on growth. I will
u lize the data and review for secondary students in 7th or 8th grade to show growth in the
2022-2023 school year from the beginning of the school year in September 2022 to mid-year in
December 2022 by using the benchmark data.

I will work with the K-12 School Improvement Specialist, the math secondary Department chair, and
fellow math teachers to review and discuss data. I will use the benchmark math data to target those
students in grades 7th or 8th who could bene t from remedia on un l the mid-assessment.

I will u lize data to evaluate the progress of each student in 7th or 8th grade.

Unique and Innova ve Aspects

Since our school focuses on personalized learning and give opportuni es for small group daily
instruc on and data drives our instruc on, our school needs to focus and build growth in the
area of math.

Timeline
I will work to implement this project from September 2022 to December 2022. In September,
the students will take the beginning of the year math benchmark. Then, I will collaborate with
team members to review the data results for 7th or 8th grade students. Therea er, I will
develop and create a plan to build student math growth and share with students in hopes of
their growth on the mid-assessment.

Evalua on

As this improvement process is part of our overall school district comprehensive plan, the
ul mate evalua on will be to see if the number of 7th or 8th grade students to show grow from
the beginning of the year to the mid-year point check. For the purposes of this ac on plan, the
evalua on will be based on the growth of the 7th or 8th grade students.
