The Risk Engineering Team are responsible for developing and maintaining the risk platforms in a
complex financial domain. This team are leaders of innovation making use of modern technology to
achieve business objectives and is integral to the organisation, delivering time-sensitive and business
critical functionality whilst working in close collaboration with risk specialists and other teams within
technology.
Responsibilities:
Design, development and implementation of Big Data and Real Time applications
Leading and educating the team on engineering best practices
Evolution of the risk system for real time processing and scale-out to match business needs
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplined delivery teams and build relationships with
business users and stakeholders
Improve system’s reliability and monitoring
Essential Experience:
Strong programming skills in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C++ etc.)
Experience of working with distributed systems and messaging technologies (Kafka, Kinesis
or similar)
Technical leadership, influencing people in the team
Ability to pick up new skills in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience:
Experience in designing data pipelines (DBT or similar)
Stream processing related experience (e.g. Flink, Kafka Streams or similar)
Experience with cloud, container and micro service infrastructures (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker,
Helm)
