Technology and Personal Safety

Technology has a beneficial impact on personal safety. Technology has made it possible
for people all over the world to communicate in ways that were not previously conceivable. This
implies that people can now connect and converse with one another without ever actually
meeting. Additionally, it implies that people can become more conscious of their surroundings,
which lowers the likelihood that they will be attacked or robbed. New devices that are simpler
for people to use have also been developed using technology. For instance, smartphones have
been created so that they may be used as a GPS and a digital camera, allowing users to capture
images and navigate without ever carrying a map or guidebook. The ability to access information
online at any time, day or night, has also been made available by computers, making life
considerably simpler for people who work from home or need access to information when they
are not in the office. The use of technology in this way is not without certain drawbacks, though.
For instance, the distraction caused by using handheld gadgets like cell phones and tablets while
driving may increase the chance of accidents. Additionally, some individuals may develop a
dependence on technology and spend excessive amounts of time staring at screens. With
technology, our lives are becoming more difficult and stressful. Also, if criminals are able to
track our location, that might be problematic.
