Daily Lesson Plan 2
Daily Lesson Plan 2
Lesson Objective(s):
Students will be able to describe lenses and how light is refracted through lenses.
(a) SWBAT Define refraction?
(b) SWBAT What are laws of refraction?
Skill Focused on:
Lenses and it’s types, how images are formed in lenses, power of lens, lenses used in
optical devices like camera, microscope, projector and telescope.
Resources:
Lenses.
Charts.
Multimedia slides.
Methodology:
Students are told how refraction occurs through lenses. What are their types. Some are
converging and some are diverging lenses.
(a) Prior Knowledge:
What is light and how it is reflected by some materials. How light bends through glass
slab? What is refraction? How light is refracted through from prism?
(b) Explanation:
A lens is transparent material. It has different types. A lens which converge the light is
called converging or convex lens. A lens which diverge all the light is called diverging or
concave lens.
(c) Activity:
Show the convex and convex lens to students then use needle and meter rod. Show them
images.
(d) Wrap-up:
How light is refracted through lenses. Those lenses which converge light are convex lenses
and those which diverge light are called concave lenses.
Class Work:
What are transparent and opaque materials. What is lens and their types.
Home Work:
Define lens and discuss its types.
AFL:
What are double convex, Plano convex and double concave lenses.
Differentiation:
How many types of lenses?
Where they are used?
What are converging and diverging lenses?
How they are helpful for people to see clearly?
