LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FOR CINEMA STUDIES

I declare that the student Julia Dantas Rigaud has attented to the film review course
Desafiando o Espectador (Challenging the Spectator) promoted by Maruim Filmes and taught
by me, Sihan Felix, starting September 8th until October 6th, 2020, having completed the entire
course curriculum in an active and engaging way.

During the course, Julia has shown unconditional dedication to the topics covered, being
committed and invariably excited about what she learned or deepening her knowledge. In
addition, Julia’s interest has always gone far beyond the expected: She has always been in
contact with the course’s teacher; was and still is a questioner critical thinker in the best possible
sense and – which can be of added value to the area – she is not afraid to put herself in learner's shoes,
something we are all supposed to do, even as professionals.

Julia also constantly shows respect, honesty, patience and easiness to get along with all
kinds of people and she is open to different opinions. Her commitment is contagious and, every day,
it is evident how much there is evolution, both objective (regarding technical knowledge) and
subjective (regarding thoughts and feeling rationalization).

Considering what she has shown, including her excellent completion of course work, I have no
qualms about recommending Julia Rigaud for a study program in Canada especially in the field of
cinema. There is no doubt that she, as an attendee, can indeed become a fresh and enthusiastic voice
for the filmmaking industry (pode usar cinema se quiser, só não usar "our cinema" pq n faz sentido).
