TECHNICAL INFORMATION CLAIM COMPLETION AND CODING

Customer complaint When to take action

Cold and warm: – Upon receipt of a customer complaint.
– Gears jam when changing from 2nd or 3rd gear.
– Difficulty changing from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. Destination of removed parts
– In accordance with warranty directives.
Possible cause
– Insufficient inertia from the control module to the Codification items
manual gearbox (MTX).

Replacing the control module 21A
REPLACING THE CONTROL MODULE Parts required
– Remove Quantity and description of parts Part no.
– the air intake unit,
– the battery plus its mounting, 1 Control module 82 00 523 232
– the computer,
4 Control module mounting bolts 77 03 002 547
– the air filter,
– the MTX external control cables, 1 Gearshift stop bolt 32 18 18H 500
– the 4 control module mounting bolts,
– the gearshift stop bolt through the wheel arch. Time required
– Remove the control module by lifting it vertically.
– Position the new integrated control module earth. MEGANE II

IMPORTANT
To prevent damaging the neutral switch: 3313 Replacing the control 1.2
– Tilt the control module towards the bulkhead, then module
align the unit to engage the neutral switch. 3198 Adjusting the gearshift 0.6
It will be easy to position the control module shaft in control
its housing.
0129 Basic road test 0.5
– Tighten to torque the 4 new control module mounting TOTAL 2.3
bolts (7.3 Nm).
– Tighten to torque the new gearshift stop bolt, through SCENIC II
the wheel arch (28 Nm).
– Refit the external control cables. Code Description Time
– Adjust the gearshift mechanism (see Technical 3313 Replacing the control 1.7

IMPORTANT

The gearshift mechanism is adjusted in 3 rd gear for
MEGANE II vehicles and in 4 th gear for SCENIC II 0129 Basic road test 0.5
vehicles.
