ASSIGNMENT 1

Is Globalization an advantage or disadvantage to the Filipino people? Cite some

examples and prove your answer.

In my own perspective globalization can be an advantage and disadvantage to the

Filipino people like me, because it has both benefits to us. It can be an advantage
because by globalization we can have advanced technologies wherein we are using right
now. It can help us to have better services through this advancement of technology. We
can use this technology to communicate with other people from any part of the world. For
example, this advanced technology is the advancement in the internet. Using the internet,
we can grab some information for us to learn it can also help us to find a job. The
disadvantage of this globalization will be the growing inequality. Yes, we can benefit other
countries and they can also benefit us but it is not balanced. For example, in exchanging
money the value of the money in the other country is not that big, but when you exchange
it here in the Philippines and convert it to peso it is bigger than the value of 5tyhet money.
Next is unemployed people who are not working here because other countries are offering
a big amount of salary that led Filipino workers to work there. For example, as a nursing
student I want to work abroad because it has a big salary. It is a disadvantage for the
Filipino citizens because they don't have enough workers who stay here permanently. So,
I believe it has an advantage and disadvantage and it also has benefits globally.
