How do nurses determine whether a patient is facing a self-care deficit? Kindly limit
answer to 1paragraph only.

The term "self-care deficiency" describes a patient who has trouble doing daily
tasks (ADLs). This can involve getting dressed and finishing the toilet, as well as
activities linked to eating, bathing, and maintaining personal hygiene. The nurse will
determine if the patient is facing a self-care deficit by limiting its active movement,
bathing ability, dressing ability and grooming. A patient has a self-care deficit if
he/she doesn’t do the things that the person is usually done before. Deficits in self-
care can result from both physical and mental conditions, such as post-operative
recovery after surgery, depression, or age-related mobility problems.
