Academic texts are any type of text that we write during studies.

It can be a literature
review, essay, or research paper. Academic texts serve as a tool of communication that
demonstrates knowledge acquired in the field of study. The academic text helps the student to
analyze, think critically and focus on technique and styles. The characteristics of academic texts
are formal, objective, well-sourced, logical, and clear.
Back when I was a Senior high school student, one of the requirements for us is to make
a research paper. We are nine members in our group. The title of our Research paper is Level of
student satisfaction in their allowance for transportation fare perceived by the grade12
Accountancy, business, and management strand in Our Lady of Fatima University- Valenzuela
Campus. The scope of this study is to identify the level of student satisfaction in their allowance
for transportation fare perceived by the Grade-12 Accountancy, Business, and Management
strand in Our lady of Fatima University-Valenzuela Campus. We used survey questionnaire to
gather data.
The objective of our research is to be able to know if the students are satisfied with their
allowance for their transportation fare. To know what are their everyday experience as a
commuter. And to find out how the students manage their allowance to their daily transportation
fare. The significance of our study is to knowing the level of satisfaction in their allowance for
transportation fare can help every student to know how they will budget their allowance for
transportation expenses and other expenses that are given by their parents. And for the parents, it
helps every parent to know where their child spends mostly their allowances, especially to their
transportation expenses.
While we were doing our research paper, I had mistaken committed. Just an example of
making questions for our survey questionnaire, my questions are usually far from our topic. And
I often forget to do the APA format on my citations. It is are unintentional mistake. Also, I often
fill long and complex sentences. And I often make mistakes when it comes to grammar. Well, I
learned from my mistakes.
Academic text is a very important piece of writing for each student. It helps the student to
elaborate his or her new ideas that he or she learned. The academic text serves as the diary of a
student on what did he or she learned from that day. And it will be always part of the student’s
journey to success.
