Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to this new Pre-School year. This information and more can also be found on our website
(www.scouthallpreschool.weebly.com) which is kept updated and includes a link to the Preschool’s reviewed and
updated Policies and Procedures. We recommend that you take time to read these. If you would like a paper copy
please ask.
Photographer: Hallett Photography will visit the Pre-
school on Wednesday 19th October from 0830 to
1000 hours. This session is for individuals, siblings and
family groups. If you would like to book an early time
slot to include school age siblings/ working parents
please speak to Estelle so that the photographer can
be made aware. Photographs can be
in a style and family grouping to suit
you and Hallett’s will be happy to
accommodate individual needs.
They make excellent Christmas presents at a very
reasonable price. This photo session is open to
everyone.
Contributions towards snack time:
We have a “Pink Pig” money box
where you can place contributions
towards the cost of snacks. BACs
transfers contributions are also gratefully accepted,
thank you.
IMPORTANT – Please remember to check our ‘Walk
and Talk’ Board which is put in the window each day
and details what we have done during the session for
you to talk about with your child. It is also posted to
our Facebook page. If you are not already a member
of our Facebook group please consider joining. We
email once every Friday to advise parents about our
snacks, rhyme and emotion for the following week –
if you do not receive these emails please do let us
know – we are very keen to keep all of our parents up
to date 
Registration Updates - have you checked recently to
see that we hold the correct details about your child?
In particular home and mobile phone numbers which
are so important to have. Please ask Estelle, Anne or
Jo.P if you need to check your registration form.

Early Years Curriculum/Learning Journals
After the Early Years Framework was updated in
March 2021 for use from September 2021 and after
consultation in last year’s Parents questionnaire, your
child’s Learning Journal now comes home every term.
We have worked through our transitional year of
reduced paperwork and no formal ‘tracking’, aimed
at practitioners spending less time on paperwork and
more time teaching through child led play. You will
see in your child’s journal our revised Curriculum Map
detailing an ‘overview’ of learning through our year.
Please do ask us any questions that you may have,
and remember you can check in with us at any time
about your child’s progress 
HELP – PLEASE PLEASE remember to write your
child’s name on everything (including boots, shoes,
coats) and ALSO on their lunch box/bag and drink
containers. Names on the OUTSIDE of bags are most
helpful – very many thanks.
30 Hours Free Child Care - Please remember to re-
check your eligibility on line. This HAS to be done
every 3 months and you should receive a reminder
from the Department of Education (DfE) either by
text or an email.
