Noah – Reflection

The story of Noah focused upon the wickedness of man. Despite the goodness that man
has, evil somehow has a way of prevailing man’s decisions. Thus, God tasked a pious man
named Noah to accomplish a mission and save those who are worthy of being saved from the
great storm that is about to come. Only pairs of animals were rescued for reproduction purposes
and only Noah’s family was saved during the storm. However, during the course of waiting for
the flood to subside, Ila, once a barren woman, bears Noah’s 2 granddaughters. And Noah had to
stand firm with what he believes is “God’s will” and must kill the infants immediately after birth.
Nonetheless, love won over Noah’s plot because he couldn’t bear to end the life of his beautiful
granddaughters. From then on, Noah’s family started a new life and stood firm with the saying
“Be fertile and multiply”.

The significance of salvation based on the story of Noah is that mankind must not be
dominated by the works of evil. Instead, the Heavenly Father’s attributes are to be imitated. This
is due to the fact that God’s salvation is not easily obtained- it is earned by being ruled by
goodness while on Earth. Also, the story gives the essence of entrusting everything to His
glorious will. In moments of great despair and breakdown, man must learn to leave everything in
God’s hands and surrender all worries and anxieties unto Him. For we, human beings, are in the
right path when our plan is according to His plan.
